Portrait Painting – Capturing Essence

Description:
This course focuses on painting portraits that go beyond likeness. Students learn to capture emotion, personality, and presence through strong structure, accurate proportions, expressive brushwork, and thoughtful color mixing. Personal guidance is provided for each student.

Foundation Studio Certificate
Awarded after successful completion of our Six-Month Foundation Program.
This level focuses on core technique, observation skills, and creative fundamentals.
Advanced Studio Certificate
Awarded after completion of our Twelve-Month Advanced Program.
This level reflects sustained commitment, refined technique, and independent artistic development.
Our certificates recognize dedication and meaningful artistic progress within our studio environment.
If you want to learn to draw, paint, and create, Urban Arts Studio is the place to go. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and you will not find a more welcoming and peaceful environment to create. Please go check them out!
My friend and I came in for a class with Fred and we learned a lot! Fred was able to show me techniques with brushes and palette knives, answer all of my product questions, and helped me paint a beautiful picture! Now I feel like I can pick up this old hobby again with confidence, and I will definitely come back to learn more.
